The Montagu Winter Trail Running Series offers SIX breathtaking venues.

Each event features three distance options.

AFRICAN GAME LODGE TRAIL RUN

Event #6 is hosted at the African Game Lodge.

This final event in the series promises a spectacular conclusion! The lodge offers excellent accommodation, dining options, a pool, and a play area for children. Expect to see a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, gemsbok, kudu, eland, and many smaller species.

5.7 km Fun Run | 194 m ascent

This fun run loops through the karoo veld, offering views of the lodge and the valley beyond. The last 1.5 km shares the same descent as the trail run.

11.8 km Trail Run | 307 m ascent

This route is a must-try! Prepare for it, as the effort will be rewarding. The trail passes a dam where animals gather and ascends towards Slagkloof, a narrow kloof hand-cut by Montagu Trails. Admire the stunning vegetation and the Lion King rock. Upon exiting the kloof, you'll be treated to breathtaking views over valleys and mountains into Montagu. These trails are non-technical and almost manicured, making them enjoyable even if you choose to walk parts of it.

17.8 km Trail Run | 425 m ascent

Pièce/Trail de Résistance: The Grand Finale features a longer trail run, passing two watering holes and traversing the renowned Slagkloof. The route offers stunning scenery, a wide variety of wildlife, and is a spectacular experience not to be missed.
