AFRICAN GAME LODGE TRAIL RUN

Event #6 is hosted by African Game Lodge.  

The last in the series will be a grand finale!  The lodge has magnificent accommodation, restaurants, pool and play area for the kids.  Lots of wildlife: giraffe, zebra, gemsbuck, kudu, eland  and many smaller species

5.7 km Fun Run | 194 m ascent

The fun run makes a loop out into the karoo veld with views over the lodge as well as the valley beyond.  The last 1.5km is the same descent as for the trail run

One Waterstation

11.8 km Trail Run | 307 m ascent

This route is a must!  Train for it, it will be worth your effort.  The trail run heads out and pass a dam where the animals gather before it makes its way up towards Slagkloof.  Slagkloof has been hand-cut by Montagu Trails.  It is a narrow kloof with stunning vegetation, look out for the Lion King rock. When you exit the kloof the views will leave you breathless, vast views over valleys and mountains into Montagu.  These trails are non technical and almost manicured...even if you decide to walk parts of it...worth it!!

17.8 km Trail Run | 425 m ascent

Pièce/Trail de Résistance: the Grand Finale sees a longer trail run, going past two watering holes and through the infamous Slagkloof. Stunning scenery, wide variety of wildlife, spectaculor route not to be missed.
