ARC Irene Run/Walk

No License Required: This event is not affiliated with ASA or the official Irene Athletic Club.

Open to Non-Club Members

Race numbers will be distributed on the morning of the event during registration, eliminating the need for prior collection.

Distance & Entry Fee:

Pre-Entries

Online Entry Fees for the Road Run/Walk are as follows: 3km costs R80, 5km is R110, 10km is R130, 15km is R150, and 21km is R170.

On-The-Day Entry: A surcharge of R30 applies.

Kids Under 13 and Adults Over 60: Pay only R80, with no extra charge for on-the-day registration.

Venue:

The event will take place at the Irene Athletics Clubhouse, located within the Agricultural Research Centre (ARC) Irene, on Nelmapius Drive, Irene, Centurion.

(For GPS navigation, use Google Maps. Although it may indicate Doornkloof, the venue is actually behind Southdowns, and the directions are accurate.)

Upon arrival at the ARC Irene entrance, the gate will be closed. Please wait patiently for it to be opened. If there is a delay, feel free to honk.

Start Time:

Registration begins at 06:15.

The race for all distances starts at 07:00.

PLEASE NOTE: Registration for the group start will close at 06:55 for a race briefing, so ensure timely registration.

Participants may register and start anytime between 07:00 and 08:00.

The cut-off time for all distances is 11:00 am.

For longer distances, such as 15km and 21km, the latest start time is 07:00. Only the 10km, 5km, and 3km distances may start after the group start. All distances must be completed by 11:00 am.

Amenities Available at the Venue: Clubhouse offering coffee, drinks, and snacks.

Entry Includes: Marked Route, Water Tables, Finisher Medal, Venue Entry, Parking, and Vitality Points.

Walking and hiking are permitted on the 2km, 5km, 10km, and 15km routes. Water tables will be available on all routes.

Please note that the Road option utilizes roads within the ARC Irene grounds only and does not extend onto public roads.

Make a Difference Campaign:

Participants have the option to either keep their medal at the end of the race or donate its cost to the Make a Difference Campaign by placing it in the campaign box. Additional donations can also be made. The cost of donated medals and any extra contributions will support the Make a Difference Campaign fundraiser.

At the end of the year, the total amount collected will be donated to a deserving animal shelter to help improve the lives of these special pets.

• No transfer of online entries is allowed if you do not attend the race.
• No license is required to participate in the run/walk.
• Cash, card, and Snapscan payments are accepted on the day.
