Crater Cruise Gravel and SA Gravel Championship 2026

In 2026, the Crater Cruise will also serve as the venue for the South African Gravel Championship. This premier cycling event takes place in the stunning UNESCO-listed Vredefort Crater, featuring picturesque gravel roads along the Vaal River and crossing three historic low-water bridges known as "driwwe." The route traverses provincial borders and highlights the distinctive beauty of the rural Free State and Northwest Province. The event is hosted at the Koedoeslaagte Trail Park, a top-notch venue, with support from the local community, farmers, and the Big Rock Riders. We are dedicated to ensuring your championship race is safe, thrilling, and unforgettable.
