False Bay 50km

Entry Information

The entry fees for the event range from R 140 to R 400.

• False Bay 50 (50km) entry fee is R400.
• 10km Race entry fee is R140.
• Great Grandmasters aged 70 and above can enter the 50km for free.
• A temporary license for the 10km race costs R60.

• An event T-Shirt can be purchased for R200.
• The first 500 paid entries for the 50km and the first 200 paid entries for the 10km will receive a complimentary T-shirt.

Race Day Information

START:

• 50km - Kleinmond Primary School, Kleinmond
• 10km - Gordon's Bay Primary School

FINISH: Gordon's Bay Primary School

Medals will be awarded to all participants who finish within the cut-off time.

Hydration stations will be available: 16 stations for the 50km and 2 stations for the 10km, offering water or Coke in cups.

Electronic timing will be used, with mat-to-mat timing for the 50km and an additional mat at 42.2 km.

A Tog Bag service will be provided at the start and transported to the finish.

The use of music players with headphones is prohibited and may lead to disqualification.

Race walkers are welcome, but they must adhere to the same cut-off times.

Toilets will be accessible at both the start and finish.

Medical personnel will be present during the event.

Prize-giving ceremonies will be held at 10:15 for the 10km and at 12:30 for the 50km.

• NOTE: Temporary road closures will occur on the mountain side between Rooi Els and Gordon’s Bay.
• Cut-Off times:
  • 50km:
    • 25 km cut-off: 03h22
    • 38 km cut-off: 05h07
    • Final cut-off: 06h40 (13:10)
  • 10km
    • Final cut-off: 12:00
• Transport:
  • Bus tickets from Gordon's Bay to Kleinmond are available for R120.
  • Parking is available at the Naval base.
  • Buses will start departing at 4am.
  • No return buses to the start line.
  • Athletes using private transport can have their drivers return to Gordon's Bay via the race route.
  • Due to the temporary partial road closure between Rooi Els and Gordon's Bay, travel will only be allowed in the direction towards Gordon's Bay.
