Take on the 1.6km route from Strandloper to Friday Island, surrounded by the rugged beauty of the West Coast shoreline. Whether you’re a seasoned swimmer or looking for your next adventure, this social swim promises a memorable and rewarding experience.

• Date: Sunday, 21 June 2026

• Start Time: Planned for 10h00 (may be adjusted depending on weather and sea conditions)

• Distance: 1.6km Open Water Swim

• Route: Strandloper to Friday Island

• Entry Fee: R200

• Format: Position results recorded, but no official finish times

Important Swim Information

• Tow floats are compulsory (No Float, No Swim)

• Brightly coloured swim caps required

• Enter in Skins or Wetsuit categories

• Fins or support devices permitted

• Swimmers may have their own support craft

• Support boats available if you need to withdraw during the swim

• Route may be adjusted or shortened for safety depending on conditions

• Winter water temperatures can range from 10°C to 15°C
