GECKO ROCK PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE TRAIL RUN

Event #5 is hosted by Gecko Rock.  

As the series is moving more and move into the open Klein Karoo, the vast open spaces and pristine Klein Karoo vegetation with its distinct smells will enchant you.  Gecko Rock has stunning trails and free roaming game.  Be prepared to fall in love with this special locaiton

6 km Fun Run | 126 m ascent

Please note there has been a change to this route:  it has been made more friendly to walkers.  The first section is good condition jeep track and then it goes into the same single track used for the 10km run.  You won’t be doing the technical, rocky section through the kloof. This makes it easier on the body, safer for those ankles and definitely faster times for those running.

 Breathe the fresh air and smells of Klein Karoo vegetation, mainly renosterbos.  Non technical mixture of single and jeep track.

One Waterstation

10 km Trail Run | 247 m ascent

This 11km trail is a great mixture of single track and jeep track.  Enjoy the great trails hand built over time to showcase the beauty of this private nature reserve.  Enough climb to get a good workout and enough single track to keep you focused.  The start and finish is the same for the fun and trail run and takes you through pristine Karoo vegetation.

16 km Trail Run | 353 m ascent 

Gecko Rock Trail Run is the only event in the series that is hosting a longer distance for 2025, 16km extremely scenic trail run.  You will be running a valley that is more secluded and not visited very often by guests.  Here you can be on the lookout for the leopard's spoor as well as quite a number of other wildlife.  This trail has a rocky section in it but mostly undulating jeep track, for the fitter runner that would love to challenge themselves.
