Lemoenkop & Fernkloof Waterfall

Welcome to the final day of the 5Day Hovering Hermanus adventure: the Lemoenkop & Fernkloof Waterfall 5km hike.

On DAY 5, Sunday, May 10th, we will explore Lemoenkop, which stands at 207m, and the Fernkloof Waterfall over a 5km distance with a 226m elevation gain, taking approximately 2 hours.

During the hike, you can expect to encounter diverse wildlife and the pristine fynbos unique to the area. We will ascend Lemoenkop on our way to the waterfall, then return along a scenic circular route back to the starting point.

Schedule:

• 8:45 AM: Meet at the parking area on Reservoir Rd
• 9:00 AM: Hike begins
• 11:00 AM: Departure
• End of Service

🔹 COMPULSORY ITEMS:

Emergency kit must include:

• Space blanket
• Whistle
• Cohesive bandage
• Small petroleum jelly
• Wet wipes
• Rennies
• Plasters
• Sunscreen
• Electrolytes

Ensure you have a suitable lightweight hydration or backpack, sunscreen, hat, proper trail shoes, snacks, and sufficient water. Depending on the weather, bring a lightweight windproof jacket or fleece, beanie, and gloves. A waterproof jacket could also be useful. Always dress in layers.

✨ Optional items include fingerless gloves, hiking poles, buffs, and coffee.
