About this race
Magalies Rocks the Cradle 2026
Saturday, 5 September 2026
Die Krip Guest Farm, Magaliesburg
Located 12km from Magaliesburg on the R509 towards Derby and Koster
Returning for its fifth year, Magalies Rocks the Cradle (MRtC) invites you back to the scenic foothills of the Magaliesberg for a day filled with cycling and trail running adventures.
With a laid-back atmosphere yet rich in experiences, MRtC encourages participants to enjoy the outdoors, explore fantastic routes, and relish good company. The event maintains just the right amount of competition to keep things exciting.
Cycling - Gravel/ MTB
The cycling routes primarily feature gravel paths with occasional tarred sections. While a gravel bike is ideal, a mountain bike will also be suitable for these trails.
Participants can expect flowing farm roads, expansive views, and terrain that fosters conversation, with the occasional challenge when the group spreads out. Whether you're riding for leisure or competition, the routes promise a fulfilling day.
Dirt Trail Run / Walk
The Dirt Trail Run / Walk takes place on private farm roads, jeep tracks, and quiet district roads. The terrain is straightforward, offering a genuine experience of the beautiful countryside.
This event is perfect for runners seeking their rhythm, walkers in search of fresh air, or anyone wanting to enjoy the landscape at their own pace.
Series Racing — Pressure Rising
Magalies Rocks the Cradle is a crucial event in two competitions: the 3rd round of the 2026 Stellantis Adventure Series and a significant part of the Luxliner Schools Series.
By early September, the standings become personal. Competitors arrive feeling the season's demands both mentally and physically. Points and gaps are critical, and every climb, regroup, and sprint is significant.
For schools, inter-school rivalry is intense. Jerseys are recognized, groups form quickly, and the intention to "ride easy" often fades within the first few kilometers.
Despite the competitive spirit, MRtC maintains a social atmosphere. You’ll witness intense racing at the front, determined efforts in the middle, and relaxed riding at the back, all sharing the same roads and finish-line excitement.
Whether defending a lead, chasing points, racing friends, or simply enjoying the energy, this event is where the season truly takes shape.
Die Krip Landboufees
Once again, MRtC is part of the 2026 Die Krip Landboufees, adding a festive and family-friendly dimension to the day.
The 2026 Landboufees offers a variety of attractions:
• Agricultural and lifestyle exhibitors
• Live music
• Tractor demonstrations
• Food stalls, craft beer, and local produce
After your ride or run, take time to explore the festival, enjoy delicious food, grab a refreshing drink, and have a proper kuier.
Why This Event is For You
This event is perfect for those who love the countryside and soaking up the atmosphere.
If a good kuier after a ride, run, or walk is as important as the activity itself.
And if you participate for the sheer joy of it — even when the pace heats up.
If any of these resonate with you, then Magalies Rocks the Cradle 2026 is definitely your kind of day.
