RTV 2026 #9 presented by First Ascent - Kloovenburg

RUN THE VINES 2026 SERIES PRESENTED BY FIRST ASCENT

Join us on the 22nd of August 2026 at Kloovenburg for the 9th event of the Run The Vines 2026 Series presented by First Ascent. 

Mediterranean cultivars dominate among the 110ha of vines on the 300ha Kloovenburg. These include Carignan, Shiraz, Grenache noir and blanc, Roussanne, Verdelho and Chenin Blanc. It also produces Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot. The first wine was made in 1997, by current owner Pieter du Toit who grew up here. A new cellar followed in 2000. In addition to the wines, the Du Toit family farms olives and table grapes, and hosts visitors for tastings and farmstays at its location along the Riebeek Mountain.

3km Manzi Water Paarl Junior Challenge for kids under 8 years of age --  Free  - Start 8:35

This distance can change depending on the farm. All kids under 12 must be accompanied by a parent. The aim of the 3km is to introduce kids to trail running and a healthy lifestyle, while spending great time with family and friends. This distance is for parents with small kids and not for individual adults. Adults must do the 5km.

Adult accompanying a child on 3km  -  R120 

5km Run The Vines  -  R180  - Start: 8:30 (Includes timing tag. No need to rent)
10km Run The Vines - R200 - Start: 8:15 (Includes timing tag. No need to rent)
17km Run The Vines - R230 - Start: 7:45 (Includes timing tag. No need to rent)

Because we are running on working farms the promoted distances might not be exact. It might be a little longer or shorter. I will do my best to have it as close to the promoted distance as possible.

Timing is done by BoutTime. You must collect your timing tag at registration. Registration is always open one-hour before the start of the 17km distance. You can buy a permanent tag for R100 that can be used at all events timed with BoutTime. Live results and sms with your results and time included.

R50 Late entry fee.

All unpaid entries will be removed after 3 days.

Waterpoints will be available. It is however always advised to be self-sufficient when it comes to hydration when you run.

Hydration will be available at the waterpoints. Sorry. No food or sweeties. We want you to support the farm and vendors after your run.

Medals for all finishers.

Please do not leave any valuables in your car. You can leave it at registration.
