About this race
About the Event:
Join us for an exhilarating mountain run!
The Titanic Challenge Trail Run is a fundraising event dedicated to the preservation of the Clarens Nature Reserve. Hosted by the Clarens Village Conservancy, a non-profit organization, this one-day trail running event invites both runners and walkers to experience the stunning views and challenging terrain of this mountainous region. Participants can choose from a variety of distances: 50km, 35km, 21km, 10km, or a 5km Fun Run, catering to both beginners and seasoned runners.
Although the Clarens Nature Reserve offers approximately 25km of trails, neighboring farmers have generously opened their lands to extend the 35km and 50km routes through their pristine private game and livestock farms. This provides an additional 30km of exclusive trails, accessible only on race day. Due to the nature of the terrain, dogs are not permitted at the event.

SUPER IMPORTANT INFO:
Note: While water points are available along the route, due to the challenging terrain, a hydration pack, extra nutrition, a charged cellphone, a headlamp, and a GPX device are mandatory for 50km participants. Similarly, a hydration pack, extra nutrition, and a charged cellphone are required for the 35km route. These items will be checked at the start line. Although not mandatory, 21km runners are strongly encouraged to carry a hydration pack and extra nutrition.
The minimum age requirement is 12 years for the 10km, 16 years for the 21km, 18 years for the 35km, and 21 years for the 50km. The Fun Run is open to all ages, but children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
Walking is allowed on all race routes, but we recommend that only serious runners attempt the 35km and 50km routes due to the difficult terrain and elevation gains. Serious walkers may participate in the 21km route, but please ensure the cut-off times are feasible for you given the terrain and elevation changes.
Regrettably, dogs are not permitted at this event.
