About this race
Grit North West | 50-Hour | ±500 km
Grit North West is an ultra-distance gravel endurance event where riders have 50 hours to complete approximately 500 kilometres.
The route is point-to-point, meaning riders start at one location and finish at another. There are no laps. The course moves forward continuously for the full distance.
Riders will travel through remote gravel roads, farm roads and rural areas across the North West region. The terrain is mostly non-technical, but the distance, time limit and isolation make this a physically and mentally demanding event.
This is a self-supported race. Riders are responsible for:
Navigation
Nutrition and hydration
Bike maintenance and repairs
Managing rest and sleep
Grit North West is suited to experienced endurance riders who are comfortable riding long distances, managing themselves over multiple days and making decisions under fatigue.
This event is ideal preparation for ultra-distance races and riders looking to test their limits over a multi-day effort.
