About this race
Join the Sokoke Forest Mountain Bike Challenge in Watamu from 1st to 3rd May 2026 for the eighth annual MTB event.
This thrilling race spans three days and three stages, showcasing Kenya's most picturesque coastal mountain biking routes.
Push your limits through the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, compete for substantial prize money, and contribute to education bursaries and forest conservation efforts.
THE STAGES
Stage 1 — Friday, 1st May | 12km Time Trial
Stage 2 — Saturday, 2nd May | 55km GPS-Tracked
Stage 3 — Sunday, 3rd May | 80km Main Race
Participants can choose to enter all three days or select a single day to race.
PRIZES WORTH RIDING FOR
🏆 A total prize pool of Ksh 300,000 is available for both men and women. 💰 First place winners receive Ksh 60,000 each for men and women. 📍 Cash prizes are awarded up to 7th place. 🏨 Prizes include holiday villa and hotel stays. 🎖️ Points for the Kenya National Cycling competition are also awarded.
E-bikes are welcome to join the race ⚡
RIDE FOR MORE THAN THE WIN
All proceeds from the event support charitable causes. Each entry helps fund local children's education and aids in the protection of one of Kenya's most endangered forests.
