Creating Your First Event

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

• ✅ Completed your profile and banking details
• ✅ Your event details ready (date, location, distances)
• ✅ Event images (optional but recommended)
• ✅ Pricing information for each distance

Basic Event Information

Click "Create Event" from your dashboard and fill in:

Essential Details

• Event Name: Clear, descriptive name
• Category: Road Cycling, Mountain Biking, Road Running, Trail Running, Triathlon, etc.
• Start Date & Time: When your event begins
• Venue Name: Where the event takes place
• Full Address: Complete address for participant navigation
• City & Province: Location details

Event Description

Write a compelling description that includes:

• What makes your event special
• Route information
• Facilities available (parking, refreshments, etc.)
• Any special requirements or notes

Setting Up Distances

Add at least one distance/category for your event:

1. Click "Add Distance"
2. Fill in:
   • Distance Name: e.g., "5km Fun Run", "50km Elite"
   • Distance (km): Actual distance in kilometers
   • Price: Registration fee in Rands (R)
   • Start Time: If different from main event time
   • Entry Limit: Maximum participants (optional)
   • Minimum Age: Age restriction if applicable
3. Click "Save Distance"

You can add multiple distances for different categories or skill levels.

Special Pricing Options

• Free for Seniors: Waive fee for participants over 65
• Free for Disability: Waive fee for participants with disabilities

Submitting for Approval

Once your event details are complete:

1. Review all information carefully
2. Upload event images (highly recommended)
3. Click "Submit for Approval"

After Approval

When your event is approved:

• It becomes visible on the Starting Line platform
• Participants can immediately start registering
• You'll receive notifications for new registrations
• Payment processing begins automatically
