How to Register for an Event
Finding Events
Browse available events at startingline.co.za/events
Search & Filter
- Search: By event name, location, or venue
- Category: Filter by event type (cycling, running, etc.)
- Sort: By date, price, or name
Registration Process
Step 1: Select Distances
Choose which distances you want to register for. You can:
- Select one or multiple distances
- Increase quantity to register multiple participants
- See pricing for each distance
Step 2: Account Holder Information
Provide your contact details as the person making the booking:
- First Name & Last Name
- Email Address (for confirmations)
- Mobile Number (for WhatsApp notifications)
- Physical Address
- Emergency Contact Details
Step 3: Participant Details
For each participant, provide:
- Full Name
- Email Address
- Mobile Number
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- SA ID or Passport Number
- Medical Aid Information (optional)
- Emergency Contact
💡 Saved Participants: Create an account to save participant details for faster future registrations!
Step 4: License (if required)
If the event requires a license:
- Enter your valid license number
- Or purchase a temporary license if offered
Step 5: Merchandise (optional)
Add event merchandise to your order:
- Select items and quantities
- Choose sizes/colors if applicable
- View real-time stock availability
Payment
Review your order and proceed to payment:
Payment Method
We use Ozow for secure instant EFT payments:
- Click "Complete Payment"
- You'll be redirected to Ozow
- Select your bank
- Log in with your banking credentials
- Approve the payment
🔒 Secure Payment: All payments are processed securely through Ozow. We never store your banking details.
What You're Paying
Your order total includes:
- Distance/entry fees for all participants
- Merchandise items (if selected)
- Temporary license fees (if applicable)
- All amounts in South African Rands (ZAR)
Confirmation
After successful payment:
Immediate Confirmation
- ✅ On-screen confirmation message
- 📧 Email confirmation with tickets (PDF attached)
- 📱 WhatsApp notification with ticket link
Your Tickets
Each participant receives:
- Individual ticket with unique number
- QR code for event check-in
- Event details and location
- Emergency contact information
Accessing Your Tickets
You can access your tickets:
- From the email attachment
- Via the WhatsApp link
- In your Participant Dashboard (if you have an account)
⚠️ Important: Bring your ticket (printed or on your phone) to the event. You may need it for check-in.
