Comments System

Every event has a comments thread for admin communication:

Accessing Comments

  1. Go to your event in dashboard
  2. Click the Comments tab
  3. View conversation history
  4. Add new comments

Who Can See Comments

  • ✅ You (event organiser)
  • ✅ Platform administrators
  • ❌ NOT visible to participants
  • ❌ NOT public

💡 Private Channel: Comments are for organiser-admin communication only. Use email/WhatsApp for participant communication.

When to Use Comments

Event Approval Process

During review:

  • Admin requests clarifications
  • You provide additional information
  • Discuss required changes
  • Track approval status

Change Requests

For published events:

  • Request date/venue changes
  • Ask for special permissions
  • Discuss pricing adjustments
  • Propose modifications

Support Issues

Technical or platform issues:

  • Report bugs or errors
  • Request feature assistance
  • Ask platform questions
  • Get technical support

Special Requests

  • Custom features for large events
  • Integration assistance
  • Bulk operations
  • Data exports or reports

Response Times

Standard Support

Priority Response Time
Urgent (event < 7 days) Within 4 hours (business hours)
High Priority Within 24 hours
Normal Within 48 hours
Low Priority Within 3-5 business days

Notifications

You'll be notified when:

  • 📧 Admin replies to your comment
  • 📧 Status of your request changes
  • 📧 Admin asks for information
  • 📧 Issue is resolved

Best Practices

  • Be Specific: Provide details and context
  • Include References: Event name, date, error messages
  • Be Patient: Allow response time before following up
  • Stay Professional: Courteous communication
  • One Topic Per Thread: Don't mix multiple issues

Comment History

Comments are:

  • Permanently saved
  • Timestamped
  • Searchable
  • Chronologically ordered
  • Include author name

Following Up

If no response within expected time:

  1. Add follow-up comment
  2. Reference original comment
  3. Reiterate urgency if applicable
  4. Or email support@startingline.co.za
